Colbie's thighs and Waffle House

Yesterday. That was an adventure! I enjoyed sleeping the morning away, taking a long relaxing shower, and cozying up at the Nippers Corner Starbucks to have a Skype date with Tori. (First off, let me pause to say that I hate blowing my nose! My ears always feel as if they are filled with water afterwards, and I have about a 3 hour time span where I can't hear... grr) It was sunny out, with a nice little breeze, and I caught two of the regulars from my store cheating on us. I couldn't say much though, because I was also in their shoes. The poor people sitting next to me got to hear my burst out into song about 5 times, and thoroughly explain the inner workings going on in my heart by God. WOO HOO! I might as well have witnessed to them in the form of a musical.

Moving along now: After the grand Starbucks adventure, I headed home to get ready to go the filming of a new show on CMT. Which technically I am not supposed to write about since I nodded my head in agreement with about 70 other people to the privacy terms and agreements. BUT here I am.... aha. When the girls and I arrived, all dolled up and ready for some possible screen shots, we were informed that we needed to all put on these matching black shirts supporting Nashville's food bank. Quickly, all 70 of us ended up looking like a cult. But no big deal, we still rocked it. Then we were all corralled into the warehouse where we awaited the concert and recording. Keep in mind this was my first filming experience, so when we had to stare at an empty stage and clap to and hoot and hollar to thin air... yeah, I couldn't keep a straight face. Shortly thereafter we were introduced to the judges. One guy won a TON of awards for song writing, and the other judge was Ms. Colbie Caillat, in the shortest shorts known to man. So not only do we get to stand around for three hours (please don't get me wrong, this was all wonderful and VERY entertaining) in a herd, we got to stare at Colbie's perfect thighs. It was definitely an experience I am glad I got to participate in, and I hope to go to a few more un-realistic reality show recordings.

After we un-corralled, the ladies and I decided to celebrate Colbie's thighs by going to Waffle House to eat. We rolled up, and there were no customers in site! Lucky us, got the whole place to ourselves. We quickly discovered the juke box, and quickly became quite the entertainment for the wonderful staff. Our server's name was Angela. She was hilarious and absolutely precious. She has five kids, and the sixth is on the way! And I kid you not, they are a mix of black, asian, white, and hispanic.... and they are all BEAUTIFUL! Angela had a ball showing us pictures of all of them and telling us about each of their dads. She is now married to her best friend, who has already adopted two of her other children. She was beaming whenever she mentioned his name (smiles). She also shared with us that she doesn't trust women. She doesn't really have friends, and that her family is pretty much her world. Our hearts immediately reached out to her. Before we left she asked if we wanted her phone number, which was a HUGE step for her, because we were ALL girls - the gender she doesn't trust, aha. We readily accepted, and to go a step further, my gracious roommate Tausha, who is a photographer, told Angela she wanted to do a free photo session for Angela and her family! We also really want to offer to watch the kids for a night so she and her husband can enjoy a night out on the town! Ahhh, even though Waffle House is definitely NOT #1 on my list of favorite restaurants, God definitely placed us there for a reason!

ALSO....
The roomies and I are wanting to a have a BIG cook out in the next few weeks or so! We are gonna turn it into a block party and knock on the doors of the houses around us and invite them to come join the fun (smiles) If anyone really reads this, you will hear more details soon enough incase you want to join in as well!

alright. time to finish cleaning. time to find more hats.
