i scare people.

Tonight, i was thoroughly reminded of how much i like sports! who woulda thunk, that 16 yr classically trained pianist, book loving, and pottery painting hali would be a sports lover. i have a hard time keeping up with games with my work schedule, and i can never decide which sport i would like to focus my love on, but if i a watching a game, or especially if i am at a game i go cray cray. no really.

story time:

one sunny day, i was at a titans game. my dad got us tickets in an area heavily seated with season ticket holders. i was really hyped up on the energy of everyone around me, and i wanted to participate more in the cheering and yelling, but i didn't know much about the players or the coach. at all. SO at one point, i realized that whenever this one player was sent out onto the field people would start muttering, "ugh. Fisher? again?" well i assumed, that fisher was that player. wrong. really really wrong. but i yelled at the top of my lungs "DANG IT! WHY ARE THEY SENDING STUPID FISHER BACK ON THE FIELD AGAIN" ahaaaaaa, who was stupid? yeah me. but hey, i was very enthusiastic.

take note, another time i was ridiculously amped up was for a predators game. my mom got tickets and i decided to take my beautiful friend cristina on a girls date to the game. i convinced a co-worker, and avid preds fan of mine to lend me a jersey. upon this request he also lent me some cheers that are regularly used in the game, such as "na-na-naaaaa-na HEY! YOU SUCK! na-na-naaaaa-na HEY YOU SUCK! WE'RE GONNA BEAT THE HELL OUT OF YOU! YOU! YOU! YOUYOUYOU!" well i took this chant to heart, and even locked eyes with an opposing team member's fan during the game (who was 3x bigger than me) and chanted it right to his face.... poor cristina, i don't know how she is still my friend with all the stuff i have put her through haha!

lately, i have really been into basketball. the madness has caught hold of me like bieber fever had caught hold of every teen girl in america and beyond. i was at the bar in the local taco tonight watching the UK vs OH game, and i was deeply focused on the game, and not focused at all on my friends at the table with me (sorry guys!). i am from michigan, and when you are from michigan you are literally born with anti-ohiostate blood in your veins. lately, i have been cheering for UK, out of the blue, but even moreso tonight as they faced OH. well, my lovely friend Bria is an OH fan, and she works at the local taco. the whole second half of the game we were yelling across the bar talking smack to each other. it was beautiful. to us at least. but i can tell you one thing, that tv has probably never heard so much female screaming as it did tonight. the friends i was with just rolled their eyes at me and kept on talking (smiles).

i am proud of this sports loving side of myself.
although i have to say, hockey is my favorite - i'm a yankee baby
