After analysis and digging into the life of Mallory, it was assumed that he had made it to the summit, and was headed back down when he fell, broke his leg, and died. He had written letters to his wife, Ruth, promising that when he reached the summit, he would place her picture atop the highest point on earth. When Mallory's body was discovered, all of his personal items were intact and well preserved, but the picture of his wife was missing.
I am at the point in the movie now, where Anker and another climber, Leo Houlding, decide to take on Everest once more, in search of the picture of Ruth, in hopes of proving that Mallory truly was the first man to conquer Everest!
Allllll of this to say, I love adventure and now I want to climb a mountain. But I don't even remember the last time I climbed a tree (grimaces).
