THINGS I MISS FROM MY CHILDHOOD:
- Coloring my hair with sharpies in a cabin during the fall retreat.
- Thinking it was ridiculously cool to walk around in pajama bottoms 95% of the week, while carrying a giant yellow Carhartt boombox on my shoulder.
- Pretending body pillows were canoes from Pocahontas, and thumping down stairs (AKA waterfalls) until my body couldn't take it anymore.
- Thinking that I had my parents so fooled by having my Dixie Chicks cd in my walkman, when I was really listening to the radio playing Blink 182 and 50 Cent.
- Turning cardboard boxes into airplanes and pretending to fly around the world like Amelia.
- Sneaking out of service and sitting in the church elevator with stolen wafers from communion.
- Lying on Leah's top bunk, which was 5 inches away from the ceiling, and discussing all of the boys she liked based on the colors of the clothing they wore most often, because I couldn't keep the names straight.
- Making seating charts before movies so we all strategically and sneakily wound up next the males we had crushes on.
Spending all of our designated Lunch Money, given to us by our parents, on DDR and Cinnabon frosting at Oakland Mall.
- Playing Mario and Pretty Pretty Princess at Debbie's house till wee hours of the morning.
- Whooping Lloyd's butt in the epic Kid Survivor VBS by standing on one foot for over 15 minutes while being sprayed with a super soaker.
- Going out to eat with my parents on pay day and rotating who picked which restaurant we would grace with our presence.
- Choreographing dances to BSB's "Bad Boy" and Aaron Carter's "I Want Candy" with Jenny in her driveway.
